Tulip Festival

While Bart was gone I also met up with two of my best friends since High School and headed off to the Tulip Festival.

Warning: this is a post about the Tulip Festival, so you're not interested in seeing lots of pictures of flowers just stop reading now. ;o)

The best part of the whole trip was that there was nobody waiting at home for us, so we could just stay as long as we wanted without worrying about being late. And we did. We got there around 10:30 and stayed until like 6:00 visiting! It was awesome! I love the Tulip Festival.

Suckers

My friend gave us sucker molds and an awesome easy sucker recipe to go along with them. When I saw the molds, though, I set my heart on making some chocolate suckers. So the week that Bart was out of town at an NAEA conference, Addison & I gathered supplies, and made some beautiful butterfly suckers.

Braids

One morning Addison woke up and the first thing she said to me was, "Mom, I want braids today." Are you kidding me? Have you seen your own hair child!?! Impossible! Nevertheless, I gave her braids that day. I know, I know, very impressive. The things we do for our kids.

Sydney

On the way home from California we got to meet our new niece.

By the way Rebecca, EVERY PRAYER Addison reminds us to pray for McKenna, Sydney, Rebecca & Chris. I love that little girl.

The Spring Salon

Bart got a work accepted to the Spring Salon!!! Every year he submits a piece, but this year is the first year he's actually gotten in! It's incredibly hard to get into. This year 1064 works were submitted, but only 215 were selected for exhibition!!! I'm so proud of him. Awesome job babe!

A Conversation Part II

So all weekend Addison has been bringing up this topic again. Then today, the following conversation took place:

Addison: Mom, I want a baby brother.
Mom: I thought you didn't want a baby brother, I thought you wanted a baby sister.
Addison: No, I want a baby brother. I like girls.
Mom: Baby brothers are boys. Baby sisters are girls. Which do you want, a baby brother or a baby sister?
Addison: ::::thoughtful pause:::: I want two babies.

Do you ever feel like God is playing a joke on you? For those of you who don't know, twins run in my family. Fortunately, I believe they skip a generation, and since my brother and sister are twins, I think I'm safe. Still. I feel like someone up in Heaven was getting quite the kick out of our conversation today.
