Does anyone remember this post? How about this one? Well, I think my daughter is some sort of seer. Not only were we (soon after the conversations) surprised with a pregnancy, but when we went in for an ultrasound to figure out exactly when I was due (did I mention it was a BIG surprise) this is what we found:
REALLY FREAKING BIG SURPRISE. And THAT is the understatement of the year. I used to look at people who had their kids close together and think, "I could NEVER EVER EVER do that. They may be the type of person who can do it, but I couldn't." This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not a funny joke.
I just keep repeating 1 Corinthians 10:13 to myself. I will not be tempted above that I am able. Okay, that may sound weird. It's not like having two babies is a temptation, but man, having 3 kids ages 19 months and under, two of which are infants is seriously TERRIFYING to me. TERRIFYING! I keep telling myself that scripture also means I'm not going to be given challenges I can't rise to meet.
I wish I could say that it's bringing me a lot of comfort, but I have to admit, I'm still feeling pretty freaking overwhelmed. I guess that's why it takes 9 months for babies to be born. To give the moms time to adjust to the idea of having a new little one...or two little ones. Man, just talking about it is overwhelming me. Okay, I'm going to go to sleep now. If I thought I was tired and sick with one, two is worse!
PRAY FOR ME!
P.S. We won't know the genders for a few months still, but given our track history I would guess two girls. Addison, however, says we're going to have three sisters and a brother. So I'm not doubting the little foreseer again. If it is a boy and girl, though, that will be REALLY crazy. My parents had two girls, then twins that are a girl and boy, then another girl. Even if it is a boy and girl, we won't be copying my family. I am DONE after this. I am making myself feel a little less overwhelmed by telling myself over and over, "I will never be morning sick again."

I am so excited for you!! You will be amazing. You are a great mom already. Twins will be hard, but a lot of fun as well. Hang in there!
never say never ;)
I am really excited for you! however I do understand your fears and I feel for you. It will be a lot to handle, but gosh, two for the price of one!!!!
I should come over sometime and see what Addison has to say about my future ;)
breathe, just breathe...
Congrats! We are so happy for ya'll!
HOLY COW!! You have a little fortune teller on your hands. Congratulations! I can't wait to hear what the genders are.
What a blessing. You guys are such great parents...those kiddos are lucky beyond words...and you'll do great! Love you both. Congratulations!!!
What an exciting (and scary) surprise! :) Congrats!
I just went back and looked at those conversations that took place! WOW I guess children REALLY do know more than we think they do! Addison knew all along you were going to have a girl, and now 2 babies! :) and i guess you were wrong in thinking that because Amy & Eric are your brother, doesn't make you safe uh? ;)
I'm soo excited for you! Love ya!
Cousin,
Ash, Liz & Zack
P.S I should come say hi to ya sometime..!!
oops i forgot to finish the rest of my sentence.. Amy & Eric are your brother and SISTER! :)
So nice to have your mom for a few weeks.... very timely:) You'll do fine. Addison will be such a big helper too!
Well, no wonder you don't want to hike Timp Caves right now!!! I want to cry, I'm so happy for you. Congratulations!!!!
You'll be OK!! Thoughts and fears can overwhelm you. I'd say when they come, Hannah will be your busiest. I helped Danni Walsh almost every day for a few months when she had the twins. I'd stay there about 6 hours each day. The twins were much easier than the toddlers. Toddlers can move and get into things. You'll be OK. Rest now, so you don't wear yourself down with worry.
That's so crazy!! And exciting! That cracks me up that Addison predicted this. I'm dying to know if she got the genders right too :)
When Jace was her age he would predict the weather. He'd say, "It's gonna snow at 8 o'clock." And sure enough, it did!
If you ever need a break, call me and we'll have Addison and Hannah over! We are so excited for you all!
Carrie told me I was pregnant with Jack 2 weeks before I found out for myself! We'd been trying for 1 yr and then for her to tell us, we were like- um, ok. Then I tested and sure enough! Then she told me I had 2 babies. My first u/s only showed an empty sac, so we thought we were miscarrying, then the next week I had another u/s. Baby with a heartbeat- so I am thinking that I had 2 eggs fertilized (is that the right word?) but one ended up being an empty sac that just was absorbed.
Kids seem to be aware of what is going on before we even do! I'm excited for you!!! It will be a handful, but more blessings for you, right! :)
I think you are going to be a fabulous mommy to twins!
Heavely Father knows you and trusts that you can do this!
Keep us posted on all of your pregnancy!
Oh, Rebecca!
Wow, that's CRAZY about Addison's comments. She really does know something, huh?
Hang in there, love. You'll be in my prayers, and if there's anything - ANYTHING - I can do for you, don't hesitate to ask!
Rebecca, I just got my Yam survey in the mail from Marie Peters, and there was a note from you included with it! It was so fun to read - thanks for writing me a note ten years ago! :)
And I'm so excited for your news! Twins . . . oh my gosh!!! :)
Rebecca!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow! That is so exciting. We are also expecting, but ours was expected, and there is only one. You are an incredible mom, and you and Bart, seriously, you can do this. Daunting task, but you will be great! How are you feeling?
Looks like to separate sacks - so not identical twins - maybe boy and girl like Addison said.
Actually, the doctor said sometimes identical twins also have two sacs. It just depends when the egg split. But I'd bet just about anything that they're fraternal twins.
