Okay, so I know I have already posted this week, but Bart just showed me some pictures he took of Addison that were so cute I couldn't wait until Monday. I don't really have a lot to say so I'll just put the pictures up...actually, I do have one thing to say. Addison is so funny, I SWEAR she likes the tags on her stuffed animals more than the animals themselves. She won't have any interest in a toy that I put in front of her, but if I turn it so that she can see the tag, all of the sudden she's totally focused on getting her little fingers to grab the tag and attempt to put it in her mouth. It's soooo cute!!! Okay, here are the pictures:

My Little Banshee
Well, I don't have Bart's pictures from New York, but he had a great time. While he was there the RAEA had an auction to raise money for scholarships. Bart bought a print that was a great deal, so we got our first piece of art. :o) Well, that wasn't our own art...well, I guess we did get a Tom Till picture for our wedding too. I guess we have quite a bit of art, but it was still exciting.
On Saturday we went to the Utah Art Museum. While we were there we kept running into this one lady. Every time we saw her, Addison got really excited. She'd smile and laugh and kick and flail her arms, and make these squealing sounds!!! It was SOOOOOOOOO cute!!! The lady thought she was the cutest thing ever.
We also went to the Art Barn (An Art Gallery by the U). While we were there we saw an art show that we had seen last month at BYU. This time the art was on sale. There was one print Bart & I had really liked, and it was for sale for a very reasonable price, so we bought another piece of art. So crazy! But very exciting.
Bart & I have really enjoyed the warm weather. Saturday we took Addison on a run around our neighborhood and the Fieldstone home development, then worked in the Garden all day on Saturday. SOOOOOOOOO fun. We are NOT looking forward to the snow storm that's supposed to come in tonight. Especially since our Apricot tree is in bloom. I was very hopeful when I heard on the radio today that most trees and plants won't be affected...then they listed the one tree that probably be affected...the apricot tree. Lovely. We lost all but three apricots last year, it looks like this year isn't going to be much better. Oh well.
As for the latest on Addison: She has discovered her voice. In Addition to the enthusiastic "Dada's" and focused "Ba...Ba's," She has refined her banshee scream. On the way from the baby sitter's today, she was screaming up a storm. It is sooooo funny! She'll scream, and then look at you and smile to see what you think of her new noise. Crazy baby. :o)
Today Addison and I also got to go out to lunch with Tabitha, her son Benjamin, Haas, her daughters Jade and Lucy, and Christa. It was SOOOOOO much fun! It's the first time we've all gotten together since Benjamin has been born. It was awesome! It was also kind of empowering. It made me feel like I could do ANYTHING! I can handle taking my baby to lunch with the girls, I can handle the world!!! Te he he.
Oh, AND Addison is FINALLY getting the hang of solids. She very successfully ate a whole bowl of rice cereal this weekend. Naturally it got all over her face, but at least the bowl was empty!
She is also soooo expressive. I pull out the camera and she just makes the funniest faces for me. It's so cute!!!
Well, that's all for now. Until Next time! Au Revoir.

Pseudo Single Mom
Well, my week as a pseudo single mom went relatively smoothly. I could probably do it if I could do it on the work schedule I have right now...although I imagine it would be considerably harder if I didn't know that my husband would be back at the end of the week and that I could call him at any time I needed him.
Although, at the beginning of the week I was ready to kill him...te he he. So Monday his plane was supposed to leave at 11:30 getting into New York at like 5:00 a.m. Giving him a full day before the conference to check out the city.
Monday was very stressful. Like a typical man (at least according to all the people...including men...that I talked to) he put off packing until the last minute. Addison did NOT sleep well the night before, so I was thoroughly tired, and was not extremely happy about driving him to the airport to catch a red-eye.
On the way there there were several things that he realized that he had forgotten, and needed me to email him. In addition to that, he was flying into JFK. JFK was further from his hotel than LaGuardia, but he assured me that there was a shuttle that the hotel provided to get people from JFK to the hotel. On the way there he said, "Maybe I should double check about the shuttle." I was rather distressed. The whole plan revolved around there being a shuttle, and now...AS WE'RE DRIVING TO THE AIRPORT...I realize that he's not sure. He calls the hotel and sure enough, they do NOT provide a shuttle! So I'm super stressed out, but he seems to think everything will work out.
I drop him off and frantically call my dad to find out how on earth he can get from the airport to his hotel. I get instructions and am about to call Bart to tell him what to do, but he calls my phone. I answer and am about to tell him what to do to get to the hotel when he says, "Um...I think my plane leaves tomorrow." I'm like, "WHAT!?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?" He wasn't.
So I turned around and headed back to the airport. He was in the customer service line to see if he could get on an earlier flight. If he waited until the next day, he wouldn't be able to get to the hotel in time for a meeting he had to present at. He was going to call me to tell me if they were able to work something out. I am in the car thinking, "I will NEVER let him book his own flights again....I wanted to teach him how to do this type of thing, but that was clearly a bad idea." He calls me back and lets me know that they got him on stand by on the flight, so I could head home. His parting words were, "I hope I'm not calling you in an hour to tell you to come and get me because they couldn't get me on the flight." I told him, "Me too because I'm NOT coming to get you! You can either get a shuttle home or stay at a hotel!" Which admittedly sounds very harsh, but I was seriously doubting that I could get home now without falling asleep. I KNEW I wouldn't be able to make it in an hour! Fortunately they were able to get him on the plane and it didn't cost us anything more. Now I need to write them a thank you letter.
It was not fun to go through, but looking back it will be one of those stories we tell and laugh at when we're old and gray. Te he he.
In the meantime, life went on. Addison has now begun solids. Her first sitting went....well....not so well. :o) She got a taste of the rice cereal, and refused to open her mouth again...which is TOTALLY ironic because EVERYTHING she can get her hands on goes straight into her mouth, but she would NOT open her mouth to let that spoon in again. Finally we just gave her the bowl thinking, "Well, she'll play in it and get some on her hands. She ALWAYS puts her hands in her mouth, so she'd get some that way." Nope. She played, but her hands never graced her lips.
I thought that maybe it was because we mixed it with formula instead of breast milk. So, yesterday, when I fed her I tried breast milk. It really didn't go much better. She did open her mouth this time...which you would think was progress...but unfortunately, to eat you need to close your mouth after opening it. This time she refused to closer her mouth. She just let it hang open with this disgusted look on her face until all the cereal fell out. Oh the joys of solids. I'm not too stressed. I figure she'll eventually eat solids...won't she? Another milestone happened yesterday. After a week of not seeing her dad, as I'm changing her in the morning Addison looks up at me, smiles, and says, "Dad." I guess Bart's months of chanting, "Dadadadadadadadad" as he changes her diapers has finally paid off. All day she was chanting. "Dadadadadadadadad."
Church was probably the most stressful part of the week. I had a lot of things I needed to run around and do which was much harder carrying The Little One. To make things worse, she was due for a nap right as we were going to church. She never sleeps in church, so I had one tired girl on my hands. Normally she gets whiny when she's tired, but...have you ever been so tired that everything is funny? Well, I think that's what happened to her because she was laughing at EVERYTHING today. It was pretty funny. I was like, "well, if I have a tired girl on my hand's I'd much rather her be giggly than whiney."
Bart gets home today at like 1:00 a.m. I was supposed to go pick him up, but Heavenly Father blessed me for taking him to the airport on Monday. The teacher he student taught with, who also happens to live in Spanish Fork, was on his plane and offered to give him a ride home. Hallelujah!!!! So hopefully next week I'll be able to post some of his pictures, and some stories from New York.
Until then! Have a great week!

A Week of Firsts
Well, this has been quite the week. Addison turned 6 months old this week. Her 6 month birthday was actually the same day as her Great Grandpa Timms' 80th birthday! Speaking of Birthdays, I have learned that the first two weeks in March are packed full of birthdays! Bart's Brother, Charles and his wife, Heather, have birthdays, my Grandpa Timms has a birthday, our friend Tabitha has a birthday, and I believe her husband's birthday is next week, and Bart's old mission companion Andrew has a birthday...tomorrow I believe. CRAZY!!! So far I've done okay at catching everyone to wish them a happy birthday...that is except my grandpa. I had like a million reminders up everywhere reminding me to call him, and as I was talking to Addison that day I was telling her how her great grandpa turned 80 the same day that she turned 6 months old, and yet somehow I still managed to not call him. Then he and grandma headed off to Mexico, so I still haven't called him! Hopefully I will be able to do that today.
Addison had her first bottle of formula on the 7th, and she really liked it, which is apparently unusual...especially since we waited so long to give it to her. We are planning on giving her solids...well, today...but I started thinking about it and thought, "Man! She's never had anything other than breast milk, maybe we should see how she does with something new in her tummy." So we gave her formula.
Ever since we gave it to her we've been waiting with dread for the first formula poopy diaper. Lucky us though, we didn't get a formula poopy diaper, we got floating formula poop in bathwater...Fun!!!
Ironically earlier this week I was telling Tabitha how lucky we've been because Addison hasn't pooped either in the bath or her towel. Apparently I didn't knock on wood.
It was really gross, I was washing her neck (it's so hard to get under those folds) and I saw what I thought was a rotten leaf floating in the water. I wondered, "How on earth did a rotten leaf get in here?" and was about to scoop it out of the water when I realized what it was. GROSS!!!! I pulled Addison out of the water and got a diaper on her as fast as I could. Bart & I were making such a fuss about it, that Addison started to cry...I think we scared her. I felt really bad, so I wrapped her up in a blanket and read to her while she finished. (We cleaned out the tub and finished the bath later. Oh the joys of parenthood.)
Addison's also getting really good at sitting. I think she prefers playing with her toys while she's sitting up more than on her tummy now. She can do it alone, but if I have things I need to get done I'll put her in her boppy. She has also started sort of jumping forward out of her boppy to grab at toys. Wednesday I was in the kitchen clearing out the dishwasher, and when I came back into the family room, she had gone from her boppy to her stomach, but the boppy was still around her waist, making it look like she had a huge bustle on. it was pretty funny.
She also has been making this hilarious face lately. She puts her lips into an "O" which kind of stretches the bottom of her nose down which makes her look remarkably like a little pig. I call it her piggy face. It makes me laugh every time she does it.
Bart has been busy getting everything ready for the NAEA conference this weekend. He's getting really excited...especially since he's going a day early so that he can see the sights. This is the longest we will have been away from each other since Addison's been born. I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm going to get a lovely taste of what it's like to be a single mom for a week...that sounds almost as fun as cleaning floating formula poop out of bathwater.
I have really enjoyed the nicer weather though. I take Addison out on a walk every day. The wife of the first councilor in the bishopric said that she's decided it isn't going to snow any more this season. I've decided that she was speaking prophetically and therefore it won't snow any more...YAY...It'll happen...I have faith!!!

Harrry Poop and Other Such Adventures
So yeah, Addison always likes to try and grab my hair, and when she gets it in her hands she does not let go! I always try to make sure that I get all the little hairs that she's pulled out out of her hands, but aparently I don't always get them because this week she had a really gross poopy diaper, and there were like five hairs in it! At first I thought that maybe they had just fallen into the diaper while I was changing it, but upon closer inspection it was very clear that they had gone through our daughters digestive system. Nasty!!!
Addison still hasn't figured how to get herself to toys that are out of her reach...however, she has figured how to get the toys to her. Instead of moving herself to the toys, she pulls the blanket under the toys toward her, which consequently brings the toys to her. Her Binki is also just another toy to her. She'll chew on the side of it, but refuses to ever suck on it the way she's supposed to...oh well. :o)
She is also really liking her swing. The other day Bart was watching her and I heard her laughing SOOOOOOOOOO hard. I was like, "What the..." and came into the room where they were. She was in her swing, but Bart was pushing her really fast. She was loving it!!! It was so cute.
She's also discovered the little toys on the tray of her swing and the mobile and naturally...tries to eat them. Bart said the other day she was trying to chew on the geraffe, but the way she was doing it, it looked like she was kissing it, so he took a picture. It ended up looking more like she was staring the geraffe down though.
She is defanately her dad's daughter. Today I was tickling her. I'd make a little noise and show her my hands that were coming to tickle her, and when I tickled her, she'd laugh. After three or four times, she just started laughing when I showed her my hands...is this bring back any memories Jonathan, Chad and Ammon...te he he. It's hilarious!
Bart is getting excited and stressed for the NAEA conference in New York. But mostly excited..okay mostly stressed, but I'm mostly excited for him. He's going a day early so that he can actually see some of the sights. He will be gone for nearly a week. The only thing I'm not excited about is being alone all week...maybe at the end of the week I'll have to use that massage gift certificate Bart gave me for Christmas. :o)
As for me, not much is new. Bart hates the colors of our front room, so it got me looking in the home decor section of the fabric store and I found this totally cute fabric that I now want to reupholster our couch in...so if anyone knows anybody who will reupholster, or teach me to reupholster for cheap, let me know!
Well, I guess that's pretty much it...until next time, goodbye!
