So ever since I took my personal financial planning class I have dreamed of having a Vanguard Roth IRA. Well, my dream has finally come true. Since I quit working, I had to transfer my 401k somewhere, and into this little baby it went. I will need to pay taxes this year since contributions to a 401k come out of your paycheck pre-tax and Roth IRA contributions are post-tax, but since Roth earnings grow tax free, that's okay with me. My dream has come true.
I just wanted to post this in case any of you were beginning to think I'm not a total nerd. Now I have set everyone straight.
P.S. I had a great birthday and will attempt to do a post about it sometime later this week.
I'm mailing my 401k rollover to Vanguard this week, whee.
ReplyDeleteI am excited for you too, which also secures my nerdiness. It feels good.
