So my friend Richele took pictures of our family and Addison's two year pictures a few weeks ago. They turned out AWESOME! She did a great job! Here some of my favorite:
If you want her to take pictures for you, let me know and I'll get you her number.

My Growing Girl

Okay, so it's been a while since I posted about least I feel like it has been a while. And she's just growing so much I want to make sure I document it!

First of all, she is just the politest little girl EVER! She always says please and thank you (although I'll admit lately I've been needing to remind her to say thank you quite a bit). And the other day I sneezed and she said, "Bless you!" She picks up on things so quickly! When she tells me thank you, I'll always say, "you're welcome," to which she responds "you're welcome." I've tried to explain that when someone says thank you to you, you say your welcome back, but she hasn't quite caught on. :)

She is also getting SOOOOOOO smart! I always sing families are forever to her when I put her down for naps, and now she has started singing with me. For the most part she hums the majority of it and just sings the last word of the phrase, but she'll sing the whole last line, "The lord has shown me how I can."

The other day we were taking Bart's brother to a soccer game. On our way to pick him up, we gave her the book "Dr Seuss's ABC's." All of the sudden we heard her singing what sounded remarkably like the ABC song. I said, "Addison, are you singing the ABC song?" She said, "Yeah!" I said, "Do you want me to sing it with you?" "Yeah!" So we sang, and sure enough, she would chime in the last letter of each phrase. She even can say the whole, "X,Y,Z" and "sing with me." I'm so stinking proud of my baby!

Bart & Becca Book

So I finally finished our 2007 - 2008 Scrapbook. I'm not sure why I do scrapbooks from September to September. Maybe it's because Addison was born in September, and maybe it's because that's the school year, but either way it's nice because it's done before the holiday season and they always have sales around then, so I can get them for cheaper. :o) I'm probably only going to leave the book on my blog for a week or so, so if you want to look through it, do so quickly. It won't be here forever. :o)

Okay, so on Saturday I found out that I am, indeed pregnant. Something I had been suspecting since Monday when I was expecting my period to start and it didn't.

I won't be posting these until I tell everyone, but I realized that during my last pregnancy, I didn't really keep track of when morning sickness started...and when morning sickness ended...and pretty much anything that related to morning sickness. I'm feeling great right now...a little hungrier than normal, but great. However, I'm not looking forward to the day that I feel that dreaded nausea. So this time I'm actually going to try and document things so that I can remember for future pregnancies.

Also, I have been feeling something weird in my lower abdomen. It kind of feels like my uterus is stretching or something, but I think it's way too early for that. I don't remember feeling anything like that with Addison this early. But like I said, I can't remember much, so maybe I did. It's been noticeable enough, though, that there was one night last week (before I officially knew I was pregnant) that I thought, "What if my uterus really is growing because I have two babies in there!" I know, I know, a silly thing to think, but it seriously kept me up for hours in the middle of the night!

On Sunday the speaker at my parents' ward talked about a family with four sets of twins in it!!! FOUR!!! I can see how you could wind up with two sets because after the first ones, maybe you think you want another kid, but seriously, four. No freaking way. That would be just plane crazy....Oh I really hope I'm not dooming myself to four sets of twins by saying that.

Anyway, that afternoon I was changing in the bathroom in our room and Bart poked his head in and said, "Oh, by the way, I think we're going to have twins," and left. After my sleepless night this comment was rather disturbing to me. I said, "Bart Francis! You get back in here right now!" When he got back I asked him why he thought that. He said he didn't know, he just had been feeling like we were going to have twins for the past few months. Now this is VERY unlike Bart. He doesn't just have "feelings," which makes me all the more nervous. I am really hoping this is just some sort of paranoid delusion and not divine inspiration.

Don't get me wrong, if we get two babies, we will love them, I'm just nervous because I remember how hard my easy one baby was. I can't imagine two! Oh well. By the time I actually post this, we will already know and this will either be something we can all laugh at, or...something else.

Huggin Doug

On Saturday Bart & I found out that Doug's funeral would be on Tuesday. We checked plane tickets...which were WAY too we decided we'd leave right then and drive to California for the funeral.

It was nice spending a few days with my family, and I am SOOOOO grateful we went to the funeral. I think I really just needed to be there. It was a wonderful service. His granddaughter shared some memories of her grandfather that I swear I felt were my own. She had everyone laughing and crying. She just portrayed Doug in the exact light that I saw him. It was wonderful! I wish I could somehow get a copy of what she said. It was so wonderful.

Judy also looked so strong! I was so worried about her, it was very comforting to see her there. I know that she will have many hard times ahead, but I know that the Lord is comforting her and I am grateful for that.

One of Doug's granddaughters has also set up a website where you can share your memories of Doug in the comments section and she will post them. For all of you who know him and weren't able to make it to the funeral, the website is His death really did leave a void in our lives. Going back to La Crescenta is just not going to be the same without one of his bear hugs or smoochin mints, but I'm glad that she made this place for us to share our memories.

Another Loved one Lost!

So three months exactly after Bart's Dad passed away from a blood clot, a very dear family friend of ours, Doug Renn, passed away from a blood clot after shoulder surgery.

When my mom told me this morning, I was literally speechless! I couldn't believe it. I am soooo sad. I love Doug so much! He is the sweetest man!

When I had been at college a few months, I remember I was in my room and my roommates yelled from the kitchen that I had a phone call. When I got on the phone it was Doug! He said that he had just been thinking of me and called to see how college was. I talked to him for a little bit and told him about classes and roommates and boys. When I hung up I remember I was just so happy. It seriously just made my day that not only was he thinking about me, but that he would call and see how I was doing. It was so sweet!

Another time, after I was married, we were at our house for Christmas. We went over to see his house which always has the most incredible Christmas decorations (like we're talking a running train and Ferris wheel among other things). He always sat in his winter wonder land dressed as Santa several times during the Holiday season and had the neighborhood children come and sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. (When I was young, some friends and I went and sang Santa Baby to him...te he he). Well, this year, when we got there, I jumped out of the car and gave him a hug. He looked at me suspiciously and asked, "Are you pregnant yet?" I laughed and told him no, but that when I was I'd let him know. Then, a week later, much to my surprise, I found out I WAS pregnant! It must have been a 6th sense.

Our trips home will feel incomplete now that he will isn't there to visit. Our prayers are with his family and loved ones. We know that this life isn't the end, but we'll sure miss him while we're still here.

We Killed Them!

So this weekend my parents were in town just long enough to go to the BYU football game against UCLA. Holy Cow, we KILLED them! It was amazing. I was expecting it to be really close. No! It was 59-0!!!! 59-ZERO!!! It was awesome, but I felt bad for UCLA. Their worst loss since nineteen twenty something how embarrassing. In the spirit of full disclosure, my mom and I left at half time because Addison had a terribly runny nose and was in desperate need of a nap, but it was still fun for the half we watched. Bart & my dad stayed for the whole game. They loved every minute of it.

My Baby is Two!!!

I can't believe that Addison is already two! Time SERIOUSLY goes by SO fast!

We started the day off by running in the Spanish Fork 5k. Jacob & I both ran. He won first place in his age division. I didn't do as well. ;o)

Addison loved playing at the park where we ended. Jacob was great and helped her climb up the jungle gym and slide down the slide, and pushed her on the swings. She loved it.
When we came home, Addison took a nap. Bart got Addison a little drawing table for her birthday. We set it up while she was sleeping and then showed it to her when she woke up. She was so excited. She walked right to it and started coloring. I think dad may have won best present again this year!
I made Addison this adorable birthday cake. I'm so proud of it. It's my first fondant cake. I think it turned out very well. :o)

It also came apart very well.

Addison loved all her presents and having all her family over. Thanks everyone! We love you all.

So yesterday we gave Addison olives for the first time. As soon as we gave them to her, it wasn't 10 seconds before she was squealing with delight. We looked at her to see why. This is what we saw:I now believe that putting olives on your fingers is not a learned behavior. I believe it is something that is hard wired into human nature.

The Flu!

So My parents came into town on Thursday, and Addison & I rapidly got the flu. Fortunately it wasn't too terrible...Addison wasn't throwing up water as she has in the past, and I never actually threw up...but still! Come on! While my parents are here?!? The fates were working against us. Fortunately they are coming again in a few weeks.

Addison's favorite activity while she was sick was watching The Little Mermaid. At the beginning of it, the Disney Logo comes on the screen and Tinker Bell comes out with her magic wand waves pixie dust around. Every time this happens, Addison points at her and yells, "Bug!" Finally I decided to correct her. I said, "Addison, that's not a bug, that's a pixie. It's Tinker Bell." Addison pointed and yelled, "Tinker Bug!" Eh, close enough.
